MESIL® Textile Amino Silicone Oils & Emulsions

The MESIL® Textile Auxiliary series features two core physical systems: ready-to-use Aqueous Non-ionic Silicone Emulsions (30%-63% active content) and highly concentrated Diamino Silicone Oils (viscosities spanning 300 to 110,000 mPa.s). Engineered to drastically improve the drapability, tear strength, sewability, and crease recovery angle of cotton (CO), polyester (PES), viscose (CV), and their blends. Select grades yield permanent wash-and-wear softness without the need for additional crosslinking catalysts.

Industrial Application Scenarios

Targeted solutions matched to specific substrates and engineering pain points:

Textile Finishing (Natural & Blends)
Suitable Grades: TX 6461 E, TX 6052 E, AF Series Oils.
Function: Penetrates cellulose fibers deeply via padding, dramatically improving wash-and-wear properties, crease recovery angle, and tear strength. Diamino structures provide a highly oily and full hand feel.
Sewing Thread & Yarn Lubrication
Suitable Grades: TX 6350 E, AF Amino Oils.
Function: Significantly reduces the coefficient of friction during high-speed sewing and yarn manufacturing. Also heavily utilized as an industrial lubricant for extruded rubber parts and conveyor belts.
Synthetic Fiber Modification
Suitable Grades: TX 6251 E.
Function: Engineered specifically for nylon and pure polyester (PES) fibers. Delivers excellent surface slipperiness, rebounce, and a slight color-deepening effect with mild hydrophobicity.
Personal Care & Hydrophilic Finishes
Suitable Grades: TX 5103 E, AF-E.
Function: TX 5103 E (30% solids) is highly compatible with rinse and leave-in hair formulations. The AF-E grade breaks the standard hydrophobic nature of silicones, granting fabrics excellent hydrophilicity while maintaining softness.

Packaging & Logistics Constraints

Silicone Emulsion Series (TX)
Standard Packaging: 190 kg drums.
Storage Requirements: Must be stored in tightly closed original containers. Storage location temperature must not exceed 35°C.
Shelf Life: 12 months from the date of production.
Amino Silicone Oil Series (AF)
Standard Packaging: Available in 120 kg, 190 kg, 200 kg, or 950 kg industrial barrels.
Storage Requirements: Original sealed containers, temperatures strictly controlled between 0~30°C in a ventilated environment.
Shelf Life: 18 months effective life (usable after passing follow-up inspection).

System Loop: Expert Formulation Q&A

Q: What is the recommended dosage and application method?
A: For the padding process, MESIL® TX emulsions are generally recommended at 5 – 30 g/L, maintaining a liquor pick-up of ~50% and drying at 130°C. For the exhaust method, TX 5103 E is the only recommended emulsion, applied at 1~3% relative to goods weight at 40~50°C for 15-20 minutes (liquor pH ≤ 5). When formulating microemulsions from AF series amino oils, the standard silicone-to-fabric weight ratio is 0.5% to 0.7%.
Q: How compatible are these emulsions in aqueous formulation systems?
A: Excellent. Grades like TX 6461 E and TX 6350 E utilize non-ionic emulsification systems, meaning they will not form complexes with anionic or cationic surfactants. TX 6350 E maintains superior dilution stability even at 2% concentrations in water.
Q: What is the correct mixing sequence if my formulation includes crosslinkers or resins?
A: As a general rule for processing polysiloxanes: If utilized alongside crosslinking agents or polyacrylate fillers, the silicone emulsion must be added in dilute form as the final ingredient. Avoid high shear forces in the finishing liquor to prevent instability and demulsification.
