Application Details
Paint and Coating Pigment Dispersion
0.3–0.8 mm beads for high-speed horizontal bead mills processing TiO₂, iron oxide, and organic pigments. Zero iron contamination, zero bead breakage over thousands of hours, and target Hegman fineness ≥7 for automotive basecoat.
Inkjet Ink Manufacturing
0.05–0.3 mm beads at 12–16 m/s tip speed for nano-dispersed pigments (d50 50–200 nm). Sphericity >0.95 required; wear debris <1 ppm to prevent nozzle clogging. SEMITECH beads graded to tight tolerances (e.g., 0.1 ± 0.02 mm).
Lithium-Ion Battery Cathode and Anode Slurry
Zero metallic contamination required — Fe, Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn at ppb levels cause internal shorts and cell failure. YSZ beads contribute <0.1 ppm Fe to slurry, are non-magnetic, and chemically inert in NMP and aqueous media. Sizes: 0.3–1.0 mm cathode, 0.5–1.5 mm anode.
Pharmaceutical and Food-Grade Milling
