Titanium chelates sit three steps downstream from ilmenite ore: TiCl₄ → titanium alkoxide → chelation with target ligand. SEMITECH sources from integrated Sichuan producers controlling the alkoxide step. DuPont's 2021 exit from several TYZOR SKUs tightened Western supply; SEMITECH has supported 60+ accounts since 2022.

8-Grade Portfolio: Selection by Ligand Chemistry

Four ligand families control hydrolytic stability, pH window, and solvent compatibility. Selecting by ligand family rather than trade name reduces substitution risk.

  • TiAA (≡ TYZOR AA) — Ti 10–11%, acetylacetonate in IPA. Solventborne crosslinker for polyesters and epoxies, 20–150 °C.
  • Ti Lactate (≡ TYZOR LA) — Ti 9–10%, water-miscible, pH 4–8. Printing inks and waterborne primers.
  • Ti TEA (≡ TYZOR TEA) — Ti 8–9%, triethanolamine, water-dilutable, pH 5–9. Glass/metal adhesion promoter.
  • Ti Glycolate — Ti 11–12%, water-compatible. Higher Ti loading than lactate grade.
  • Ti Citrate (≡ TYZOR CLA) — Ti 7–8%, highly water-soluble. Food-processing and regulated textile coatings.
  • Ti Phosphate — Ti 8–10%, water-soluble. Corrosion-inhibiting primers and conversion coatings.
  • K-Titanyl Oxalate — ≥99% purity, white crystalline. Electroplating brightener, PCB finish, textile mordant.
